Campus Email and Online Account Information:
All Middle Georgia State University students are provided with an official campus email address. Your school email is the most effective way the college has to communicate with you. All official institutional information will be sent through these campus email. In order to protect your personal privacy and MGA communications, do not share your login credentials for your campus email with anyone.
If you are new to Middle Georgia State, or have never logged in to your email account, you should first activate your account and determine your email address. You can activate your student email account online with a user-friendly, step-by-step process. Students will use their MGA SWORDS student ID number and password to access their account.
Online Account Information
Each fully-online student has an account in Desire2Learn (D2L) where online courses are accessed. In addition to your campus email, information will be posted through D2L email or news tools. All online courses will use internal course email for communication unless otherwise noted in the course syllabus by the instructor.
To gain access to your D2L account, an activation link is sent to each student through their campus email their first term at MGA. By selecting this link, you will be taken to a page to create your D2L password. Your account may not be accessed until you create your password through this secure activation link. If you forget your password after activating your account, reset requests may be submitted from the D2L login page, but may only be changed by accessing a secure link sent to your campus email address. Students may also contact any of the technical support phone numbers to request verbal password resets. Students must be able to provide their MGA ID number to verify their identity when requesting a password reset by phone.
